Texture Cursor Privacy Policy
How the Texture Cursor Chrome extension stores settings and uses browser permissions.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Texture Cursor Chrome extension published on the Chrome Web Store and operated from cursor-space.com.
Texture Cursor has a single purpose: change your mouse cursor to another cursor. It lets you replace the default pointer with textured and animated custom cursors on websites you visit.
Overview
Texture Cursor is a lightweight custom cursor Chrome extension. It runs locally in your browser. We do not operate accounts for this extension, and we do not collect personal information for advertising, analytics profiles, or resale.
By installing or using Texture Cursor, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Data stored locally on your device
Texture Cursor uses Chrome extension storage to save your preferences on your device so the extension can work after you close the browser. This may include:
- Selected cursor pack or cursor style
- Cursor size and display settings
- Favorites and cursors you remove from favorites
- Other in-extension settings needed to apply your chosen cursor
This information is stored via Chrome storage and unlimitedStorage APIs in your browser. It is not sold, and it is not transferred to third parties for purposes unrelated to changing your mouse cursor.
Permissions we request
Texture Cursor requests only the permissions needed for its single purpose. Below is how each permission is used:
- scripting - injects the scripts required to apply your custom mouse cursor on web pages.
- storage - saves your cursor selection, size, favorites, and other settings locally.
- unlimitedStorage - allows enough local storage for cursor settings and related extension data.
- notifications - may show notifications about new cursors or related extension updates.
- alarms - wakes the service worker and checks for the presence of new cursor packs (replacing timers with the Alarms API).
- Host permission - needed so the extension can apply custom cursors on websites you visit. Custom cursors are not applied on the Chrome Web Store, internal Google pages, or the Chrome New Tab / home page due to Chrome policy.
What we do not do
We certify the following disclosures for Texture Cursor:
- We do not use remote code.
- We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties, outside of approved use cases required to operate the extension.
- We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose (changing the mouse cursor).
- We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- We do not track you across the web for advertising profiles through this extension.
Texture Cursor is designed to run locally with no tracking and no personal data collection as described in the Chrome Web Store listing.
Chrome Web Store compliance
Texture Cursor complies with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies and the Chrome Web Store Developer Agreement. We design, publish, and maintain the extension in line with Google’s rules for a safe, honest, and useful Chrome Web Store experience.
Limited Use disclosure: The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
